I recently purchased a 1996 f150 with the I-6 and a 5-speed. It is an eddie bauer edition and has very low miles. I am pleased with the truck and was hoping that someone would give me some input and/or tips regarding this engine/truck combination. Thanks

I can't speak to the 5 speed (never had one), but the 300 cu. in. inline 6 is one of the best engines around. I put over 200K miles on my first one (an '83 model) and now have about 160K on my '89. I am a firm believer that if you keep the oil and filters changed on a regular basis, it will last you a very long time. My first one outlasted about every other component on the vehicle including the body!!

Try Clifford Performance. There's a Maverick locally that has a 300 I6 with a whole bunch of their parts on it. He runs LOW 12s without nitrous. 'Nuff said? I think their web site is www.cliffordperformance.com. Most of their current stuff is for Jeep 4.0s but they still can do the 300

Check with Clifford Performance: I think their website is www.cliffordperformance.com. Their motto is 6=8 and they mean it. There's a guy locally running one of their 300s in a Maverick. He's turning low 12s without nitrous, 'nuff said?
