I pulled the grille and headlight bezels off, went to the local auto paint supplier and got a quart of Nasin acrylic enamel and activator to match my paint.....A quick degreasing, a little sanding and my buddy the paint genius blew it on last night...... Not a bad $30 mod I think....
I think it it looks a little more modern.
I wish someone on here had a pic of a superduty with the grill painted so I can see because I really like how yours turned out..btw is that a vanilla creme air freshner? I have one, smells very nice..LOL

The way I've seen the superduty grills done that I like is to mask off the chrome and just paint the gray insert part body color......looks really sharp to me.

that's what i was thinking of doing... but i have been looking at doing a ss grille insert to... lots of those that look REALLY GOOD on the SD...
there is one that i really like... it has punched holes all through it... looks like little "stop sign" shaped holes.. and you put the inserts in the side vents too... it looks fantastic.. but i wonder how much cooling air it blocks off....
3 of 7...you been spying on me? cause like, last week at work i was thinkin of doing the EXACT same thing on my white OBS.... man, i'm REALLY gonna have to do it now it looks so good. i don't have a paint genious buddy, so i was just gonna use rattle cans with primer, but wow.... i did also plan on getting some small diamter expanded metal or something of the sort and painting it black to mount behind the grill. thought that might look pretty slick as well. EXCELLENT job! wow.....awesome

The place where I got my paint will put the proper color automotive paint in a rattle can for 20 Bucks..... The grille on the OBS trucks is painted already so if it's in good shape you shouldn't have to prime it....just rough it up
The toughest part is figuring out how to get the headlight bezles off....what a pain, you need to remove both batteries and there are 2 bolts that go into the back of the signal lights.... I used a 1/4" ratchet with a 2" extension and an 11mm socket
well, when i bought the truck, one bezel was broken, he had the replacement inthe toolbox, so i got to do all that fun stuff once already.... but hey, can't beat a really cheap awesome lookin appearance mod.
