Hey guys,
I noticed that when I turn my heater/ac unit to the dash and floor vents, that it sometimes switches to the floor and defrost vents even though it is still on the dash/floor vent setting. It might also be helpful to note that my ESOF works but that I have to lock the hubs b/c the seals in my axle are bad. Is there a connection between my hubs and my vents since its all vacuum controlled? Also, have any of you experinced this problem and know an easy fix? Thanks for your time and suggestions!
Start with the vacuum canister under the hood. Trace the line from there to the firewall. Look for any signs of chafing especially where it goes behind the a/c acumulator. If all looks good there, go under the dash from where the line comes into the cab and trace it and all the others back to the switches. Some of the lines are a real pain to get to. You may have to remove a few things.
