I am ready to finish the floors in my new shop and want to do it in 24'' black and white squares. Has anyone done this in a manner that holds up? I have 1000sf so it has to be ''reasonably'' priced. any help? thanks ff56
I've been kicking this idea around for a long time. I'm very tempted to try the 12" Armstrong lino squares. They're pretty durable, flexible enough to go over the lumps and bumps of the concrete, and at less than a buck a square, it would be one of the more affordable lay-down surfaces available.
thanks for the tip, I have been looking at that. I havae also thought about painting the area where I park my hot rod and my F100 and doing the squares eerywhere else. The U-Coat system is 'way cool but $$$$$
what about herculiner? sticks well to concrete. I ripped off the cheesy carpet that was on my house steps and rolled that on, non slip & much better looking.
There are also some quartz based resin tiles for "bling" garages but I could never find a source. I saw them in a Monster Garage book about garages but here was no info. They are pricey.
pricey is not an option, I found a local company who will do the floor like I want it, $3800.00!!!! This floor is 1000 sq ft but I just can't make myself spend that kind of money.
for anyone who might be interested, I got a reply on the ceramic tiles. I needed a good laugh today and I got it. Tiles are $7.00 each and grout is $45.00 per bucket that covers 110 sq ft. Mkes the $3800.00 from my first estimate look like a bargain. thanks to everyone for your input
