The following is the part # on the tag for an '87 E150 drum to drum differential. S733D L55 88 7819. Can anyone translate these to tell me, 1) ratio, 2)posi or straight? Thanx guys, VANMAN

I'm not sure about the first half of the ID numbers but you have an 8.8 inch diff with a 3.55 gear ratio. The "L" may mean that you also have a limited slip but I'm not positive. Hope this helps. Scott

Your right about the L representing a limited slip. When I bought my truck I called the dealer to find out what gear ratio I have and they told me the L stands for a locker.
