i pulled in to the store down the street at lunch.. the guy parked next to me is getting into his F150... he looks at my 02 blue mule and says... "gotta brand new one eh?" i replied.."no this is an 02" he says..."no way..!" I said... "yes it is... this truck has 91k miles on her"... "get the f&*K outta here"... "well, i did give her a bath this weekend...!"
This happens at least once a month...! Anybody else have this happen...?
It happens to me sometimes when I pull my skeeter boat. The funny thing is I have 100000 on the ol 01 PSD and the worth is probably 14-16 grand if I'm lucky and the skeeter is a 05 around 20000 and eyes just go to the ol white lady. New Truck? they'll ask nope but I just bought this here boat.
I get that at least once a month too. People see the inside of my baby and really can't believe there's 116xxx miles on her. I love it the look on their face when I tell them the mileage.
most common question isn't if my truck is new (haha, it was new in '95), its if the Stacks are functional...."those suckers SCREAM" then i tell them 206K miles and gets 20 MPG. "wow!" i'll hopefully have on '02 in a year or so....its on my wish list

I get that too, in that order, "do those work", yes they work, there loud, listen when I leave. "what year is it." its a '97, and yes it's expensive to own. "how many miles." 215K and still rippin. "215K!!!!" yep, plan to hit 300K before I blow this motor. "that will be expensive." yes it will be, that's why I am single and work like a dog. then they laugh and walk away. its great working constuction and bringing it to sites, I could asnwer questions for half the day.

Diesel Rod
i've had guys come up to me when i pull in to get fuel and they sometimes keep me talking superduties and diesels for over 20 mins... if my wife is with me, i always get "the stare" when i finally get back in the truck..!
yeah Johnny, one like yours is what i have my mind set one. supercab shortbed. good lookin truck ya got there. Dieselrod, yeah, they ask how many miles, i too tell them 300K if i can make it, and after i blow that, since i'll hopefully have a newer PSD, gonna drop me a twin-turbo'd cummins in that baby....of course, its gonna be a for fun truck then. and ooohhh....will it be fun
and lucky for me, the gal i'm kinda talkin to right now, thinks my stacks rock....even though she has only seen them in pics....she gets intorduced to them saturday evenin though.
thanks for the compliment on my mule RS6... i too am going to run my mule for a long time... and when it's time... if the rest of the truck is still strong... i am going to rebuild the motor with forged rods and a few other things that i'm learning about to make her plenty strong enough for a few serious mods... hmmmm... injectors... aftermarket turbo... propane injection.... the list continues to grow...!
