On my 2000 Lariet SD, the doors do not automatically lock like other SD's that I have riden in. Is this feature possibilly disabled on my truck and if so, how do i turn it back on?
Here's what the manual says for a 2004. If your truck isn't equiped with the Auto Lock feature, then you might be outa luck.
This feature automatically locks all vehicle doors when the following conditions are met:
the ignition is in the 4 (On) postion,
all doors are closed,
the brake is pressed before reaching 8km/h (5mph) and
the vehicle is traveling more than 8km/h (5mph)
Before following the procedure, make sure the ignition is in the 3 (Off) position and all vehicle doors are closed. You must complete Steps 1-7 within 30 seconds or the procedure will have to be repeated. If the procedure needs to be repeated, you must wait 30 seconds.
Turn the ignition key to the 4 (On) position.
Press the power door unlock control three times.
Turn the ignition key from the 4 (On) to the 3 (Off) position.
Press the power door unlock control three times.
Turn the ignition back to the 4 (On) position. The horn will chirp.
Press the unlock control, then press the lock control. The horn will chirp once if autolock was deactivated or twice (one short and one long chirp) if autolock was activated. Note: Pressing the power door lock/unlock control will toggle between activating and deactivating the autolock feature.
Turn the ignition to the 3 (Off) position. The horn will chirp once to confirm the procedure is complete.
