Seen a truck at the wrecking yard with a VIN that started with F27. just wonderin what that meant, like a cab and chassis 4x4 or something. Also, I wasted some time trying to identify an axle code, but there are sooo many posts that come up when I tried the keywords axle code and axle code chart that I gave up. Im looking for a chart, and the code for 37X.

I thinks that F27 means that the truck rolled out of the factory with no bed of any type.

F25=4x2 pickup
F26=4x4 pickup
F27=4x2 cab & chasis
F28=4x4 cab & chasis
