COP dusting

Hey all. I have a 2001 f-150 super cab 4x4 short bed with 52k miles. For a while now the truck sometimes idle a little rough, and on occasion I've noticed a slight miss in the exaust note (flowmasters). I keep hearing about the failures of the COPs, so I decided to pull them all out and give em a good looking over, and do a plug change. All had a primary resistance of .6 or .7 ohms and secondary resistance were all around 5500 ohms. The one thing I did notice was a rust colored residue around the outside of the boot and below the dust seal on the #8 COP. Even though this coil checked out, could it be jumping spark, causing the miss and residue? No trouble codes were on at anytime. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Chris.

Mine has done this since I bought it. It has caused no problems in almost 52,000 miles. If the coil fails, you'll know it. It could cause a little spark jump, but probably not.
