Mine's not a Bauer edition, just a shorty XLT with the digital dash, trip computer, etc. No rear A/C either. Did come with 2nd row Captain's chairs though.
I have it worse no Rear A/C no power locks or windows and no 4WD. Guess there are less things that can go wrong though .
When I told anyone in 1996 I got that van for 15k they said it had to fall off the truck sadly I think they were right since for its mileage 47k I have replaced more then most of you guys have on your 150k+ Aeros .

I'm pretty sure this is a recall issue with electronic odometers. I can remember being a kid and having a friend of the family say that eletronic odometers were crap. Now I know why...

I just went over the TSB and recall list, and there aren't any listed for the electronic speedometer/odometer for this symptom. The only thing even close was that Ford began offering to pre-set the mileage on replacement electronic odometers, if you filled out a form.
Hmmm, doens't sound right . . . [grabbing flashlight] . . . well I'll be blasted, the self test on power-on does show only one segment.
How stoopid.
Thanks for pointing this out. So . . .
The analog dash only goes to 99,999.9
The digital dash only goes to 199,999.9
Did this change somewhere after '91?

Al S.
It must have. My '93 Aero just turned 200K and it DOES actually show up as
200,000.0 miles.
I forget which year this switched: does your '93 have a column shifter?
Yes. 3.0, auto, column shifter. My '91 is a 3.0 with a floor shifter. It's weird that you just get used to one and when you drive the other you always grab for the shifter in the wrong place........
Well, Al, you'll soon have to get an off topic forum like the Ultimate Subaru site has, since I've led you astray.
Probably the Maxima is going to have power locks and windows though I don't want them. IMHO, too much to go wrong, whether in an Aero or elsewhere.
I recently bought an '89 Topaz (twin of Ford Tempo) with PW and PDL because the price was right --$300--and it ran well. However I knew the driver's window would not go down, though the others are OK. I bought it that way anyhow and I thought I could fix it. So far, no luck.
My preference would be to have a crank window for the driver and power for the other three so on warm days I could easily be able to roll all windows down for ventilation. I've even thought of getting another driver door with crank window from a JY just for that purpose.
