Trans Identification

A friend just gave me an old 89 F250 4x4 manual with 180K miles. One thing I wanted to do is change all the fluid and filters. Can some please point me in the right direction to identify the maker of the trans and a proceedure to change the fluid.

A Trans ID should be on the doorpost, as well as other information

C" trans

The label on the door piller said C

What is the proper fluid to put in it and does anyone have the drain/fill locations.

don't know what the 'C' denotes, but to the best of my knowledge, a 4spd would be a Borg-Warner T-18 & a 5 spd would be a ZF5.
