posters and other banners in your garage
#4
I have quite a few, but no pics of them. We have a 40'x18' room on our garage that all the posters are in. The room's a "pool room" I guess you could say. Two pool tables (one bar room style, one snooker), sectional couch, fridge, microwave, 27" flatscreen tv, dvd player, decent stereo setup...my little corner of the instituiton in other words.
There are posters for: Red Dog, 1996 Ski-Doo Formula III snowmobile, Jack Daniels, Schlitz beer (mirror), McDonnel worlds finest brandy (also mirror), and about 6 posters of the dogs playing pool. Oh yeah, and a 6 foot tall McDermott Pool Cue banner.
I'm always on the lookout for a good poster/banner for the garage though...

I come here for the great ideas for my shop and garage but I only have Chevy's in my garage. Nothing against Ford's. In fact I just test drove a new bright yellow Mustang that I thought about trading my vette for. I love the looks of that new stang. I just finished repainting and decorating my garage and hae sevral posters, banners, and pics. I can post a link if you want to see, but it is all Chevy stuff.

Antique Gas Pump
Well, I found a very cool Sinclair gas pump in a dump I was at today. It was very shiny. (I know who the dump belongs to and why the pump is there now) Anyway, at my buddies farm, his grandma and grandpa used to have a tank of gas for agricultural purposes back in the 60's-70's. They don't do that anymore, and they put the pump down in the dump. (Fast Forward--->)
2005! Some 18 year old kid comes and picks it up. Now I'm in possesion. It's still relatively shiny, and a little chrome polish goes a long way.
Anyway, I was wondering what other kind of garage decorations some of you may have in your sanctuary. I know my neighbor's got some really cool stuff. He's got an old texaco pump, and a bunch of road signs. What kind of decoration do you all have? No 'junk' remarks please.

The inside of my garage is 24' x 42' with 10' walls on two sides, and an 18' wall in the back...so I have lots of room for stuff on them. Here's some of the things on my walls;
*When I moved to Ohio, my buddies in Illinois had a going-away party for me, and gave me one of those nice tall banners that citys put-up on their street lights. They all signed it.
*A life-sized cardboard Richard Petty.
*A blow-molded 30" long Lowes NASCAR promo.
*A 10' long banner that says "STP...welcome race fans"...from the 1971 National drags.
*A Stewart Warner banner.
*A two foot long blow molded Champion spark plug...hanging from the ceiling.
*Assorted tin signs.
*License plates that I've used through the years...mostly vanity plates...like; MROLDV8, MROLDV6, 71 RAT, 1 OF FEW, OLD L 48, NO NEW 1, and CHITBX 1...among others.
*Assorted car art and posters...mounted and framed. (I own a custom framing shop, and when a customer brings something in to be reframed, and doesn't want their old frame back, I'll cut it down and use it for garage art.)
