Had the same problem though intermittent. The flex cable and some of the ground wires were not in "prime condition". You should be able to see via an ohm meter that there is no resistance between the ground post and the firewall, paint removed,.

As for fuel consumption, this can vary based on your diff gears.
I have 3.55 so gas mileage is not to bad about 16mpg at 70.

The firewall ground is on the pax head (rear faceing the firewall) it is a braided wire on mine. It is really there for radio interfearance grounding............... The main grounds are at the front lower corners of the block.

Cruise Control set at 70mph (about 2250rpm) --> 13mpg

Cruise Control set at 60mph (about 2000rpm) --> 16.5mpg

Cruise Control set at 55mph (about 1800rpm) --> 21.3mpg

94 F-250, factory turbo, stock tires, pulling small jet-ski on trailer & MC in bed. 4.10 gears, 4x4.

I believe the sending unit for the oil pressure is located on the top of block, rear of the intake. there is flat space right on the top surface of the block in the trans tunnel. You would prob get a better look at it from beneath looking up over the bell housing.

The oil press sending unit should be on the back of the block, just in frony of the bell housing. If it is a turbo it is on the top of the turbo, there is a 'block' that has the sender in - oil for the turbo comes from the port in the block that non turbo has the oil press sender in. Put in a mechanical guage, do not rely on the factory "idiot" guages. MPG depends on how you drive, you should get at least 12 - 14.
