Van stalling
In the past 6 months I wasted $900 bucks for nothing. The problem
started 2 years ago with it stalling in the winter, this past summer the
carb was totally rebuilt. It was fine until the cold weather set in.
When initionally starting it I tap the gas pedal and I can hear the
chock close, turn the key and it starts right up, with the chock still
engaged I have to let it warm up for 15 minutes until the motor is
well heated up. If I don't do this it will stall and will not start back
up until an hour or so passes. The other night it started I went in
the house came back out and it was'nt running, it would not restart.
The next morning it would not start either, I had it towed paid, $535
ignition wires, rotor and some other electric things and this morning
I figured why let it warm up after all that, but what do you know
"BINGO" it happened again.
So my question is should I just install a manual chock?
Any suggestions. One more thing I should point out, then it's started
and the chock is closed it sometimes will race wildly until the chock
is kicked off.
My E-mail is danw@home.com, but it would be better relping on the board.
If all it needs is to be adjusted maybe the shop wont charge you beeing you spent all that money to fix it and still having the same problem.
It all depends on how you approach the situation how good you are with words and how head strong you are.
Good luck.
