Electical getting crazy

I have a '95 f-250 psd that's having some isues. about a year ago the cargo and dome light started staying on for hours after the door was closed and constantly while running. At first I thought gem sensor but when I called ford they didn't list a gem for diesels. I didn't get too worried I just pulled the bulbs out until I had time too get to the problem. Well now I have no choice because every time I have a trailer hooked up with the trailer brakes on the pickup won't idle. When I turn the brakes off it runs fine.
I don't know if the two problems are related but I really need some help.

Please help,
JJ

Welcome. The dome light is probably the switch on the door. It is located in the latch on the door. Spray it down with WD-40 and it should start working right again. You may have to soak it pretty good. The trailer brakes cutting the truck off is a puzzle to me. I'll have to think about that one for a while.

I thought of that and checked it with a test light, and found it was in working order. So who knows.

It might function, but may be out of adjustment. Don't forget to check all of the doors.

I'll have to look at some schematics, and think about your brake problem. I don't think they are related, unless it comes down to some faulty wireing.
