'02 CC, I just installed all four speakers in less than 45 minutes! Hats off to Crutchfield for the easy wiring harness and detailed directions. I got home from work at 5p, its now 6p and I going cruising with my new Infinity 6x8's. Easy, easy, easy!
I purchased the Infinity Reference speakers, not the higher priced Kappas, and overall I am very pleased with them. The stock deck could use more power, since I can still turn the volume up all the way and I still want more, but the sound is clear, the bass is great, and the highs are crisp. Like I mentioned in a previous thread, Crutchfield had a 40% off sale on them, so with shipping, wiring harness, and two sets of 6x8's it came to $130, not bad at all.
The directions were posted by another member about a week back, I did a search under "speakers." Those directions took care of the front, but for the back I needed to do the following:
Opened the rear door, and pulled the door scuff plate up with my hands. Unbolted the seat belt with a T50 Torx socket. Starting with the top, I pulled the panel straight out, and then I worked the bottom, until it popped off. Plugged the new speaker in, and snapped everything back in place. With the exception of the seatbelt bolt, there is no other hardware holding on the panel, just pressure snaps.
I can email the directions on Monday, when I get back to work. Let me know.
This is kind of off topic but I just changed my deck, I put a Alpine in that puts out 50 watts a speaker. It also gives you the option of adding up to 8 amps which would be overkill. Install didn't take that long I just baught a universal plug for the stock wiring harness and attached the wires from the deck to the corosponding wires for the harness and wow what difference in sound.
