I would like to add a roll bar to my 67 4X4 Styleside, but cannot find one specified for the 67 thru 72 trucks. I have found some for the 73 trucks, but am unsure if it will fit my truck. Grizzly makes a Double/Single Bar that is exactly what I am looking for except that it is for the 73 truck.
My question is; will the Roll Bar for the 73 fit in the bed of the 67 thru 72? I know that Ford made some changes from 1972 to 1973, but did those changes affect the inside width of the beds?
Has anyone with a 67 thru 72 installed a roll bar? If so what brand and where did you make the purchase?
A lot of the roll bars are made were the rear legs and feet mount to the
wheel well, thats where you may find a problem, the wheel wells in a 67-72
are kind boxy ,flat sides and top, 73-79 wheel wells are like a bump in
the metal, and they aren't near as tall.

Made the rollbar for my 66 4x4 myself out of thick wall water pipe. used 2" standard pipe with I think 1 3/4" inside for double thick walls, then bent to fit the truck. I welded the legs on going bown to in front of the wheel wells. Mounted it on a 1/4" steel plate, then bolted it to the bed floor. Worked real well when my son got hit by a deer and rolled the truck into the bar ditch onto it's top.
I guess it would be a show bar that I am looking at. Not a functional roll bar. I may have to find a 1973 and take some measurements of the wheel wells to see how tall they are in comparision to mine.
