Paint Match Problem
I have a '95 F150 that is dark blue. Sometimes when the sun is at the right angle the truck will look purple, but this is rare. Anyway the paint code is LA. I have been to several stores to get touch up paint and cannot find this paint code. I looked under truck and automobile listings. Anybody know what is going on?

Having worked in auto parts all my working life,I can tell you there are several colors that are not available to Dupli-Color,which is widely sold in retail stores as well as parts stores. The code 'LA' does ring a bell to me as one of those.But here is a hint,it may have been discontinued by now,so you will need to look at an older version of the sales catalog or price sheets to see if it were ever available.Some colors were available in spray,but not brush,and vice versa. If you can obtain a SKU number for it,then you can possibly special order it or pull one from someone elses inventory.Another hint, look under the Ford Probe and Mazda listings,as well as Lincoln/Mercury. Yet another hint,go to the dealer or even check your owners manual for the dealer part # under replacement parts/etc.
