Instrument voltage regulator??

My gauges have never worked right (except the speedo). The tach is inaccurate.

The gas gauge, oil pressure, voltmeter, and temp all read zero all the time. I have an aftermarket oil gauge for safe keeping.

I've read previously about an "instrument voltage regulator." Is this what I need to replace?

what are you driving?? I might have the wiring diagram for it.

Edit, try this simple little test. Turn the key to run-not start- & have someone watch the temp gauge while you remove the wire from the temp sending unit, shove a nail in it & ground it to the block.

The gauge should move to full hot.

It's an 89 Bronco II, 2WD, A4LD, 2.9L. Full set of stock gauges.

I'll give your test a try.
