Just complaining...had a bolt back out of the rear U-joint in my Ford last night so I'm borrowing my boy's dodge until I can get parts. It's not exactly a hardship driving an '05 6-speed Cummins, but I just feel like a pansy in it. It's a 2WD CC dually 1-ton, with only the back side windows tinted. I'd never tell him this (thus, the urge to vent to FTE), but it looks like something a horse show mom would drive. UGH! I'm just not the same woman without my big ugly Powerstroke!
I am sorry that happened to you.<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008_ZNxdm006BQUS' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_9_17v.gif' alt='Tears' border=0></a>
Sorry for the confusion...I believe the distinction can be made this way:
goat=Dodge Ram
GOAT!!=GTO
Does anyone else feel slightly unsettled by that big old goat staring up at you when you're driving a Dodge? I keep expecting him to say something stupid...
The good news is, the Ford should be back on the road in a day or two if I get with it after work. Hope the Dodge holds up that long!
I feel your pain...the humiliations we must suffer when our beloved modes of transport must undergo surgery...! But I have to say, where did you go wrong raising your kid? He grew up and bought a....D...D...Dodge? I can barely even say it! Oh, the shame you must feel! My prayers are with you! (I hope the tranny doesn't fall out of that thing while you're driving it and you get the blame!) -TD
He was die hard Ford, but he bought someone else's mess ('97 Powerstroke that needed $200-$3000 in repairs every couple of weeks) so when he got out from under that he was looking for another Ford but wound up with the brand new Dodge because he got it for less than the used Fords he was looking at. The dealers just wouldn't come down on the Fords, but the Dodge was a custom order stripped-down model that someone had backed out of, so they were having trouble moving it. I'll just wait to see what he buys next to decide if he's a keeper.
