Question 97 Expy EB Mach Subwoofer Missing Driver replacement

Hi, I posted a longer version of this question on the Expedition forum, didn't see this section, opps.

I just obtained a 97 Expy EB, with the MACH audio system. The door speakers sound ok, but lack bass, the subwoofer seemed dead until I took a closer look at it tonight and discoverd the driver was missing from the unit.

The sub enclosure, amp, grill, and wiring is still all there, just no speaker. I was wondering if I can drop a 8" 4OHM Sub into the enclosure and bolt 'er back up.

I know its not an ideal solution , which would be to toss the entire OEM audio system, but I need something to last me a few months before I decide whetever or not to invest in new audio gear or wait until I get my new truck next year.

Any help would be great!
