Looking for head studs

I was wondering if anyone knew of a place where I could get a good set of head studs for my 05' 6.0? I plan on stacking an Sct with my edge for power and running them with water/meth and propane. I am concerned about the heads and would like to change the studs first. I know ARP has a set out, but have seen many bad reviews on them.
I also was wondering if I needed to do other work in the engine, like o-ringed heads and strengthening the lower end? I would appreciate anyone's input in this matter. I can’t afford to blow this engine yet and would like to avoid that.

Thanks,
Pete

In a nutshell, if you want to spray meth and propane in large quantities in conjunction with heavy injector timing, you will need aftermarket solid billet connecting rods to work with the head studs and o-rings. Hypermax has the o-ring, Cunningham Connecting Rods can do the rods, and many of us are still waiting on studs. ARP's are backordered, but aren't worth the money for your application.

Also, while it is apart, it would be in your best interest to have the combustion chamber face of the cylinder head, the pistons, the valve faces, valve seats, and exhaust ports ceramic coated- then EGT won't make a difference at all. Its also relatively inexpensive to do.

Even with the SCT (IMO the best thing on the market as far as the transmission goes) the tranny will be toast in far under a month driven hard. Take a look at ATS or Suncoast before you even start with the engine.

If you want specific contacts for parts, ect. drop me an email.

PS- if you really plan on going heavy-duty, ditch the Edge altogether. Just MO.

I was wondering where I can have the parts ceramic coatedI don’t know of any places that do that in St. Louis.Besides, digging into the valves, pistons and such is beyond my knowledge.Electronics, fabrication and semi-advanced mechanics are ok for me.I can pull the heads to install the gaskets and studs, but I am not sure enough in my skills to take apart the whole engine for the coating.

Also, if I ditched the edge, what programmer would you recommend? I am not ready to move to a chip, and I do still plan on towing.I had planned to stack a custom hp program in the Sct with the edge, so I can tune the whole thing down if I needed.I do have a 6-speed; so I don’t need to worry about the tranny holding up.I do wish that someone would build an aftermarket clutch system for these that can hold up to 600+RWHP.I would like that better than rigging one up with a stock single mass flywheel.

Try ATS for the clutches. Seems like they had a beefy one for the standards.
