Question new ford filter

Has anyone had any experienc with the new ford aftermarket filter for the 7.3. It looks alot like the 6.0L i read some where that it flows 300% better than the stock 7.3 and it realy is not that expensive.
Thanks
Les Davenport

You won't get a bigger filter than this one.

If you are talking about the Ford severe duty system yes, several of us here have them. I am completely satisfied with mine. What in particular do you want to know?

Yes, the Ford AIS and it is an excellent intake filtration system that was designed by Donaldson. Perhaps a tiny bit restrictive if you run a high hp chip or tuner.
It is the only aftermarket intake that I'm aware of that is approved by Ford and won't void your warranty.
Runs $189.00 from a few different on line vendors.

Hey heatstroked, not to argue with ya, but when I did my research on filtration for the 7.3L and air intakes. I found that any filter/intake that does not delete the worthless little sensor that tells you when to change the filter. (cannot remember the name) as long as it still is used on the intake, it will not void the warranty. Hence I have the Airraid intake on mine and it has not voided the warranty.

I got one, it works great. A little restrictive, but I prefer high levels of filtration because I was showing elevated silica levels in my oil analysis. Once I put on the AIS unit, problem was solved.

I don't think I would take any PSD in for any engine warranty repair with any aftermarket products on it that are not approved by Ford or your Ford dealer, and expect Ford to honor the warranty.
Ford and the dealers have the right to deny warranty if there is any evidence that aftermarket products could have caused the proposed damage, they will deny it.
In most cases, even if a mod was unrelated to the damage or not, it still usually ends up as a warranty denial. Yes, you can throw the Mag/ Moss act at them but dealers and Field reps are denying warranties left and right for any minor modification these days. Unless you have a good relationship with your dealer who "overlooks" aftermarket modifications, I wouldn't buy any other intake system but the AIS.

Rooster, Scenario: Let's assume our PSD's are stock except for the intake systems (hahahaha) and we take them to the dealer with compression issues that may be related to "dusting". I go in with my AIS system, you with the Airaid. What do you think the outcome would be for me?, for you? I'd have to say I'll get the typical run around band-aid lip service fix but eventually get a new engine at Ford's expense.
I would say it would be highly likely that you'll be on the Forum's looking for a new engine at your expense?
Bottom line, if you want to keep your Ford warranty (as far as air intakes are concerned), your only hassle free option for full dealer warranty would be with the AIS.
Otherwise, I'd go with a Tymar and keep your stock intake set up as a spare in case you ever need to make any dealer warranty visits.

unfortunately, heatstroked is right... if you play... and something goes wrong... you pay.... even if the mod actually improved the filtration of the air going in the motor, and your problem was internal engine related... they, (the stealerships), will use ANY reason to get out of paying for a waranty claim because they loose money most of the time they do these repairs... fortunately for me... i have over 90k miles on my 02, (almost all unloaded highway miles), so... my warranty is just about over.... so... time for the modding to begin....!
