Lightbulb Tips and tricks

While looking at 73-79 forum, I noticed that they have a sticky that is
Tips and tricks, so I though that was a great Ideal. So my question is could
we have one for 61-66?

My first tip is if you are doing a disk brake swap and you are drilling the flat
bar coming from the booster you can drill the hole smaller by using a seat
back bolt, they are made a lot like the bolt that is used, but the shoulder that
goes though the brake pedal is about 1/16 smaller so it leaves a bit more metal
around the hole and the same locking nut fits it to! I bet the strength a close!

Share your tips and tricks it may help someone/

After reading and printing out the 2 disc brake articles that are on this site
(That are written excellently!) I was still in question about using the wider
power brake pedal.

So I did a search on Power Brake Pedals and on Power Brake swap.
What I found was that all the posts said that they bolted the wide
power brake pedal right up!

My Truck I swapped from straight drive to automatic in the past. I still
had the clutch pedal hanging when starting this project.

This is all from notes that I had taken in the past when doing the swap.

But you do have to do alterations! Take a pair of Dial Calipers and measure
the collar that welds through the pedal on a 65 (1 7/8 in) and on the 78 F-150
that was my donor parts truck the collar was 1 ¼ in Longer. So I sawed that
amount off of the 78 pedal (while sawing collar saw the sleeve also) and filed
the rough edge. I then picked the best nylon bushings (lube them with a good
grade of grease....possibly graphite or lithium) It slipped right in using the pedal bolt from
the 78 donor. Now for the clutch side of the bracket, I sawed the left over piece
of the inner pivot sleeve in half or close, and bolted it to the clutch side of the
bracket as a shim. There is a small collar welded to the clutch side of the bracket.
That this 5/8 in sleeve shim fits right into. This helps the pedal bolt up tight.

as stated in my post above I used a seat back bolt to bolt the pedal to the flat
bar coming from the booster, because, I read that someone might not have gotten
thier hole centered and it didnt leave alot of metal around the bolt hole area.
The seat back bolt is made like the flat bar/pedal bolt but it is 1/16 smaller diameter.

I hope that this can help someone in the future!

I lost the clutch pedal, and retained my 66 brake pedal.

There is no single way to do this.
