Gearshift Problem (Removing Tranny).. ?
So, a friend and myself have this 76 CC we are pulling the engine and tranny out of for parts. We have the engine and tranny hoisted up right now but we forgot to remove the stick shift first (woops)!
So, we're wondering how you get the stick off. Also there is a peice of the housing of the transmission that sticks up quite high, which makes it seem like we're trying to do the impossible here. If we take off that cover in the floor is there some top plate that unbolts on the transmission?
Also I'm wondering how similar this would be to the tranny in a 79. I presume the output adaptor would be different. Would the rest be the same? I have a 79 CC, but it spent an awful lot of years in first and reverse and doesn't sound so good

Thanks a lot!
Ian
The aluminum part of the tranny will come clear off after removing 10 bolts (dont remember how many exactly) This should give you plenty of clearance to slide it forward and out of the way. Hope this will help.
And we need more info on what both trucks have as far as engines and trannies go. 2wd, 4wd? Need more specifics.
I will verify the trannsmissions this afternoon.
Thanks a lot for the awesome picture!
