This isn't the extremely common IAC problem. Anytime its cold it loves to stall. But it isnt just a low idle. Even when i hit the gas and hold it, the rpms bounce around, they fluxuate about 300 rpm up and down no matter when i give it gas or not. I can't turn the wheels or it will stall out when cold, because power steering is affecting it that much. It CAN NOT drive unless the temp needle is between the bracket that shows the normal temp. IAC has been replaced, checked it out last week and it still looks pretty clean. I took it to a shop and had the deluxe fuel injection cleaning stuff, been putting some techron fuel injector cleaner through the tank every few thousand miles. I even tried going to different gas stations with the thought that maybe one station had contaminated gas. That actually did help a little. But the problem never went away. So what should i be looking at? Also, I dont know if this is connected to the problem or not, but i think the rings are starting to go on the truck. I mean i could probably squezze another 90k out of it, if it is the piston rings. Its at a very early stage. 3 times in about a year it has blown a little blue smoke out the exhaust when i start her up. And if i floor iwhen I'm going pretty slow (prolly under 20 mph) i can smell a little oil burning sometimes (believe me I try not to floor it for this reason but sometimes you need to).
I would suggest a few of things:
1. Read the computer codes and fix appropriately
2. Clean the MAF, check air filter
3. Check all the vacuum lines,PCV valve, EGR system
4. Fuel filter replaced?
Try those for starters and please let us know how you do.
Well, Truck has been in the shop for almost 2 weeks now. Different codes keep coming up, so computer is gettin replaced.....ahhh I need my truck back
I figure I will check the seal at the bottom of windsheild when i get it back, just to be safe. Dont remember seening any water inside the cab. I hope swapping out the computer fixes it, I cant go anywhere and its jsut costing me mucho $$.

Well after I took it to the shop it got progressively worse. To the point that it wont idle at all. Do you think that could still be related to the MAF since its just at idle?
PCM is the onboard computer on the truck. I think the actual PCM, the hardware itself was like $300 and then gotta pay for install. Unless you are getting a bunch of codes being thrown I wouldnt start messing with the computer.
no mine has a idle problem like when i am siting at a light it will idle down and sound like it has a cam in it and then when i push the gas it idles back up
