OR YOU CAN BUY MY PROCESSER OFF ME, IF YOU HAVE A 300 SIX WITH A TFI-IV IGNITION LIKE MINE THEN IT'LL BE THE SAME, IM PLANNING SWITCHING TO A DURASPARK II IGNITION SO I WONT NEED MY PROCESSER.

I have allready converted to the Duraspark II ignition in my truck. If you need a processor, I'll sell mine. It came out of a '84 F-150 with the 300 six and it was the TFI-IV ignition. I changed mine due to a small fire under the hood and it was cheaper to convert to the duraspark system than to buy all the sensors. The processor is fine and never had any problems with it. If your interested, E-mail me

Thanks for the inputs. I will discuss with my mechanic and see what I have under the hood and whether or not we should switch.

What was the nature of your fire? We had a similar fire a few years ago. It ran ok until recently. (1500 miles or so)

As far as I can determine, it was a carburator fire. My wife was driving it and she said it made a loud pop under the hood when she tried to start it. I figure it backfired thru the carb. She didn't know what to do and by the time she got ahold of the neighbor, it melted most of my sensors and not to mention the spot it made on the hood.

ONE OTHER REASON WHY I WANT TO GET RID OF MY TFI-IV IGNITION, IS BECASE IVE REPLACED THE DISTRIBUTOR TWICE. THE FIRST TIME, I WAS LUCKY I GOT HOME ONE DAY AND I WAS IN THE DRIVE WAY, AND THE MOTOR JUST SHUT OFF, THE MODULE INSIDE THE DISTRIBUTOR WENT BAD, YEAH I COULD OF JUST REPLACED THE MODULE, BUT THE BEARINGS IN TH DISTRIBUTOR WERE ABOUT GONE. I GOT MY REMANUFACTERED ONE, ABOUT 60 DOLLARS WITH TRADE IN, IT DID FINE FOR A WHILE, THEN LAST JULY, HOT AS HELL, I WAS COMMING UP THE ROAD, I WENT TO ACCELERATE, THE THE MOTOR GAGGED OUT A FEW TIMES, BACKFIRE THROUGH THE CARB, THE OUT THE EXHAUST,
I DIDNT KNOW WHAT THE HELL WAS WRONG THAT TIME,
STUCK ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, I WALKED TO SOMEONES HOUSE, I USED THERE PHONE TO CALL A TOW TRUCK, GOT IT TOWED HOME, AFTER I COOLED DOWN A LITTLE BIT, I THOUGHT ABOUT MY DISTRIBUTOR, I DECIDED TO TAKE THE DISTRIBUTOR CAP OFF, SOMETHING MUST HAVE BROKE LOOSE IN THE DISTRIBUTOR
BECAUSE THE WAS BUSTED UP PARTS AND CRAP, ALL UNDERNEATH THE CAP, THE ROTOR BUTTON WAS TORN UP BEYOND RECCONNITION, NOW IM ON MY SECOND TFI-IV DISTRIBUTOR I BOUGHT LETS SEE HOW LONG THIS ONE LASTS BEFORE I SWITCH TO THE DURASPARK II IGNITION
