Driver Side Power Window

On my '00 Ranger the driver side power window seems very jerky when it goes down. Could anyone tell me the cause and what the remedy would be to correct this. THX

Welcome to FTE!

A lot of times re-lubing the window tracks will help. You need to take off the door panel and pull back the moisture barrier to get at the tracks. I have found that the grease that comes in a spray can, fortified with something like teflon or moly, works well for this.

I have a 98 Ranger -- the driver side window started making noises and working erratically -- took the door panel off and there was a cable that was interfereing with the mechanism -- a ty-wrap had broken and the cable wasn't where it was supposed to be -- put a new ty-wrap on and it has worked great ever since -- Gary
