Hi, I bought a 70 F-100 short box, the problem being is someone removed entire rear diff. I know they fit from 67 to 72, my question is do earlier years have same diff. as in bolts up the same and same width. I have a housing and pumpkin out of 68 F-100 what years would axles fit. Any help would be great.

That will do. At least 67-72. Axle length should be about 29.25-29.50 inches and 28 spline ends. If you find an axle in the junkyard with the seal on it behind the retainer, then you have to skip that axle.
BB1, The axle width is the same from 57 to 72, but Ford offset the bearings 5/8" starting in 68 and used larger rear brakes.
While the size is the same the braking will be different. I have the later brakes in my 66 tube, but I had to change the backing plates, axles, & drums for the upgrade.
You might find it just as easy to grab a 68-72 complete and install it since your brake system is designed for the larger rear brakes.
