GM begging employees to buy
When GM starts begging employees to buy its product, you know nothing but trouble is ahead.
"It's no secret that sales are down this year. The VSSM Team is
committed to turning that around by supporting our brands, offering
compelling pricing and competitive incentives, and promoting our great
features and technology in exciting new ways. We're going to win in
this highly competitive market.
Right now I'm calling on every employee and retiree to step up and do
his or her part to increase sales for the month of May. If you're
considering a vehicle purchase or lease, do it now."
unconfirmed memo from GM VP
And to top it off, they've giving employee discounts to "anyone."

Let's think about that for a moment though. We pick out a 'Burb or Tahoe, buy it with the GM equivalent of the "A" Plan, toss in about $5000 or $5500 worth of rebates, throw in the FTE discount, and you'd be in one of the things $7000-$7500 back of invoice (or about $12-13K below sticker). That's about what wholesale book is on a used one. (mooch alert, blue lights flashing). Or just call this guy i know up in the Nwst and pick one up for a grand back of invoice and dispense with the niceties. It all ends the end of the month.
