I have a recently rebuilt 302 in my F150. It has about 15,000 miles on it. Today I noticed that the oil had a strong smell of gasoline to it. I dicovered this after I pulled the pvc valve while it was running, and got a lot of gasoline smelling vapor to it. I realize that I should do a compression check, but I had ford do this when it had about 4,000 miles on it. Is this abnormal? Also, I have a whistle comming frome the carb or intake. I have rebuilt the carb after the engine went in, and noticed at that time that the butterfly staft was a little loose and slightly bent. It usually runs really good, but today I got a sound comming from it that sounded like a bunch of large steel ***** rolling over a rough wood floor. Am I headed for somm trouble here? Mark.
