Why is it tha when i tried to order the 9mm wires from the dealership they said it would be over 100 dollars, yet when i went to Ford Racing they had them for 38 dollars. That is a hell of a mark up. Are they the same or different wires?
I have the MSD blaster coil, MSD wires, and the MSD off-road ignition. The spark plugs are Motorcraft, gapped to spec. I have the MSD ignition set up where I can toggle in and out of stock. My question is, will changing the timing to 12* btdc give the same results with this set up? Do I also have to re-gap plugs?

Why is it whenever someone disagrees with ole popa tim he wants to go behind the schoolhouse and fight? Grow up and have an open mind popa. I have been doing the wrencing thing for over twenty years and still find I learn new things every day. Your opinion is not the only opinion, learn to play nice with others.

For those of you with the 9mm Ford Racing wires, could you share where you got them and the part # please. Thanks for your time,
Kyle

Go to Summit and paste in this part number FMS-M-12259-C301
i also want to get that coil and the ford wires for my bronco, but i am worried about RFI. the larger gap means a bigger spark, the hot coil makes that spark "louder", and what about those wires? how are they with radio noise?
i ask because i have my CB, a police scanner, and occationally a VHF Transceiver, in my bronco
[...yes that coil will give you mpg and some performance gain. but you must gap your plugs to .50 or .55. also bumping your timing to 12*btdc with spout removed possibly more if you play with it you will notice improvements. good plug wires will complete this upgrade for sure and should be concidered for best performance. as set of ford 9mm wires work well.]
I installed the coil and noticed a much smoother accelerating ride. Starts easier, too. Just like you said, better performance. I haven't messed with the wires or timing, yet.
They are polar opposites. Guess which end of the spectrum Accel is on.

Let's see...there is an anterior end and a posterior end...hmmmm....which end is Accel on?....that's a tough one.....maybe I should use history as a guide to figure this one....MSD works, Accel doesn't....ok, Accel is on the *** end and that's my final answer.
From many posts in other forums I have heard that most bronco owners have had issues with MSD coils and their life spans. I have been researching which coil to go with and at first MSD was the chit. But now I have heard that Crane coils are higher quality, better life span. Check them out. This is probably what I would go with along with the Ford 9mm wires. MSD really has a nice Cap and Rotor set though (secondary cap holds the plug boots down). Just installed a month ago. I've got pictures if anyone wants to see them (86 ford bronco, efi).
Sorry...link would not take you directly to the coil. Here is the part name and number...enter it at the Summit Racing page.
