Cool Cam Sensor Problem

I have a 97 F-250. I was replacing the cam sensor and broke it off. Any ideas on how to get the rest of it out of the block????????

Bummer! Nothing sticking out at all? What do you see when you look at it? Any way to get an easy out into it?

I think that is the only idea. Just not a lot of room. Thought maybe someone knew a magical way!

Take your time. Walk away if you have to and come back to it later. It will be a pain but it can be done. Maybe someone else will come along with better info. Good luck with it.

By the way - Welcome to FTE.

Drill a hole in the CPS, try not to go all the way through. Screw a wood screw into the hole and use the screw to pull the rest of it out.

kwik's idea is a good one. i've never run across this before...i'm not sure how much of the sensor you have left. i'm concerned that if it's a small amount and you press on it with a drill ( tight fit even with a right angle drill ) it could push it on in to the timing cover and into the engine. i would try this first, clean the area on the sensor real good with brake shoe cleaner, attach a bolt to the sensor with some super-bond adhesive. put the head of the bolt to the sensor. once it's cured put a flat washer and 2 nuts on the bolt, jam the nuts together. this will allow you to turn the sensor and apply pressure under the washer with a prybar get it out. kwik's would be faster if you knew for sure the sensor would not fall into the engine and if you have access to a right angle drill. have a good day !
