New old guy

Howdy,

Well, how to begin, got hooked on Ford F-250's in the early "70's." Watched a particular 2wd Camper Special out do anything most 4x4's were doing then.

Then OPEC, remember them, put the squeeze on us and I got a "79" 4x4 Toyota, the second one delivered to the dealer, all in all a good little rig, had it until "95" when sombody loaded all my valuables into it and drove it all away! OT I know, but this is a introduction, got a new "85" Toyota Turbo Diesel, man that little strech cab could move! Sold it to the first caller, but got 9 weeks of calls on it. Bought a, humm, how should I put this a "97 bowtie" 3 door 4x4, yeah right , nice ride, useless in 4x4 situations. Oh yeah, In the meen time, I developed a fondness for IH Cornbinders, had 4, still have 1.

Traded the bowtie and some cash in for a new 2001 Ford "Supercrew" nice family ride, but had to buy a trailer to haul anything larger than a lunch box. Ebayed it, got my price and now We have a real truck, 1969 F-250 4x4 Highboy. My sons are driving age and I wanted to wrap them in something heavy, slow with 4 speed (grandma from hell) tops out at about 65 mph. We are going through it trying to figure out exactly what we have, advertized as having a "390" though 352 cast into the block, I know that they are the same "family" of engines, but I got to wonder as we go through things what we really have. No more "Tech Talk" here.

Also, I have a 1968 M-715 waiting to restore to a driver.

I will be asking for some help in identifing parts and such in the tech forum.

Sincerely,

Troy Rice

Hello, welcome to FTE!

Check out the 67-72 forums. We have a HD engine forum also for some of the engines that were available in the HD vehicles.

Anyways, welcome to the boards!

I have an 81 f350 4x4, been confussed about my engine too. Not sure if it's a 351m or 400. I'll find out when I tear it down I guess. low oil pressure :/
