Anyone?

1988 Ranger, 2.9. A4LD w/floor shift. Does anyone know of an aftermarket shifter that would be a direct replacement for the stock unit. I am having problems with the shifter handle not engaging into Park or D1. Thanks in advance.

Well, I'm not sure how "direct" you mean, but I'm pretty sure the B&M Truck Megashifter will work - and so will many of the other aftermarket floor shifters.

Your Ranger have a lift on it? I have a 87 Bronco II and it did the same thing. After trying to readjust the shifter linkage i had no luck..so i cut a small piece out of the bottom of the plastic casing where the shifter handle rod hits..worked like a charm..just needed a little more travel space.
