Alright my dad is drives a 02 extended cab and i drive an 01 extedned cab. He is thinking about trading in his truck for something newer... Since his is newer than mine I might take his truck and he can trade in mine. The only problem is I don't like the seats in his truck. They are the ones with the two seats and the cubbyholder box that doesn't move in between the seats. I was wondering if it is possible to take his seats out and put mine into the 02.
If so would that create any problems when he trades in the truck with different seats. Both have the tan interior so the colors match.
You dad's truck must be a Lartiat model, or at least it was ordered with the captains chairs and yours is a XL or XLT, right? The dealer may or may not catch this during the trade in. If they do catch it, it might slightly increase the value of the 01 truck, since the captains chairs are a higher priced option.
Yes my truck the 01 is an XLT, and his is too. He is the original owner of the truck, and it was in the lot when he bought it. Did the captain chairs have to be ordered to recieve them or were some trucks built with them.
So if anything by switching the seats it would increase not decrease the value of the 01 with the captain seats in them?

As long as everything is swaped properly, I don't see any problem with the change, assuming the seats are in good condition. I'm pretty sure the captain's chairs are an option on the XLT's and standard on the Lariats, so in theory it should increase the value of the truck slightly. But you know how trade ins go, they try to stiff you every time.
