LOL yeah i understand. My husband and i are looking into a diesel f250 4x4 crew cab. We love our truck and want to keep it but its getting to small and we are putting 40.00 in gas every 4 days. We are hoping that after it gets a good tune up and a better exhaust it will help it out some.

it just turned over 106,000. we bought it with 65,000 on it but we drive from VA beach to Illinois to see family atleast 4 times a year so it racks up the miles. This will be its 2nd tune up but i think its dues for one as the other one was given the day after we bought it in Feb. 2003.

does your truck have the 5.4 ??

Just got my 2001 4x4 crew cab with th 5.4, tow and off road package. I average about 15 mpg. Don't drive crazy but maybe average about 70 on the hwy and accelerate with traffic in town. Last tank on hwy at 75 mph for 220 miles, plus in 4x4 for about 20 mils with heavy throttle including 4wd low, still got 15 mpg. Lowest so far has been 14mpg. Could probably nurse our 17 if I drove very nice. So it depends on the truck and how you drive it. My truck has 46K miles on it.

I run the tires at 38 psi all around,,which also helps a bit.

mileage

I have an 03 crew cab 4x4 5.4

I get 13-14 around town and 16-18 on the highway. I drive very light-footedly though. regular 87 octane gas

On my recently traded 98 F150 4x4 Lariat with 5.4, I get around 14-15 on mixed driving. On my current 02 Supercrew FX4 5.4L I get around 15 on mixed driving. I usually drive conservately.

Don't let that fool you. I usually get 100 to the first 1/4 of a tank and then get around 60 for the next 1/4. Don't know what causes this. If anyone knows let me know.
