Roger that on the batt cables. Went camping on Memorial weekend (yea, it was crowded!) and noticed the starter wasn't as fast as it should be. Checked the batteries and the alternator, they checked good. Cleaned the battery posts and the cable connectors, now she turns over fine. Corrosion is one of the worst enemies of electricity.
Since I think your post said you had an 01 you might want to just go ahead and change your alternator, beats being broken down somewhere.
The Batteries will last awhile since they are new and it appears that you are charging somewhat, but one day you'll try to start up and there won't be enough ooomph to power up the glow plugs, crank it over, and play the radio all at the same time.
Went through this with my 99 about 8 months ago. While you're at it just check and clean all your wiring terminals and such.
