I Have A 77 F250 Highboy 4x4,i Want To Replace From The Headers Back.summit Shows Header Extensions With A 2 1/4 Or 2 1/2 Inch Tube,so If I Buy Red Hots Glass Pack Mufflers Do I Need 2 1/2 Or 2 1/4 Inch Inlet /outlet? I Want The The Mufflers To Slip Inside The Extensions.then What Size Straight Pipe Tubing Do I Get To Slip Over The Outlet To The Mufflers?never Did Exhaust Before And I Want To Slip Them Together Hang Them And Clamp Each Connections.

Mike,

Woah man what's with all the capital letters?? lol...anyways red hots are slip fit. Yes sir I bought some for my truck. I have 2 1/4" pipe and these were 2 1/4" mufflers. They slide over the existing pipe. Sound good too. What size engine do you have? Go either 2 1/4" or 2 1/2" and then buy your red hots accordingly.

Should work out nicely for ya.

I would say that anything bigger then a 390 or 400 you should go with 2.5" but if you have a smaller engine 2.25" is good, if a 302 you could go as small as 2". But because you said hi Boy, I am going to guess a 390? So 2.5" will be fine, as moose said, just buy the mufflers according to pipe size and the pipe will slide right in.
