FlowTech Red Hots Review

Rich, Powerful Sound. Power Louver Designed Core. A High Performance Glasspack Muffler......

Yes this is what is written on the box and its what I read in VIP when I was picking them up. When I installed them on my truck with no tail pipes on first impression they weren't very good to me. Damn Loud but they were blatty and kinda crackly. I drove around for a bit and everyone was lookin'. After having my tail pipes hooked up to the muffs I can tell you the sound has completely changed. A sound that is 10 times better than Dynomax Super Turbo's, and 10 times louder. Its almost the same sound I was at an awe. A rumble at idle and a complete and teeth shattering bark at 3000 RPM. I didn't even crank on her for fear of breaking some windows. But in all seriousness I think these are for me. I would rate them at about 9/10. Just because they are glasspacks. I didn't think I was a fan of these because every glasspack I heard sounded horrible. When it warms up they are gold. It is loud for sure but its a good sound. Here's my setup:

5.0L - Hedman Headers, 2.25" true duals with no cats running thru 2.25" Red Hots.

I am reviewing this muffler for people who would like to know if it sounds good. Yes. Yes it sounds good. Now go buy them. I had guys at the shop telling me it was very nice sounding and loud. I should have bought 2 sets and sold them to my friends. I recommend this muffler to anyone who has catalytic converters and stock manifolds cause its going to be loud even with those.

As a final remark. I can record a sound clip for those who are interested. Let me know and I will get set up.

Well. Snowman you'd have to tell us what you have first. It would be great to know. You've got a 4.9 right? It might sound o.k. It won't sound like a V8 tho man. I can't believe how loud this "practically" straight pipe muffler really is. Its sickening. The boom tubes only made it sound deeper, but man. She frigin barks. Sounds hella good in the cab too. You can really hear the motor not like before you just hear a wisper..I'm a little freaked out cause I just watched White Noise...so geez more people want the sound clip good. When it stops raining here I'll get my camera out. Its been raining for like a week straight...ahh time to go offroad I think.

hahahaha! Wicked. Yesterday my friend dave and I went out to the deep hole to do some playing and called my buddy Emry and he came over with his truck and then 2 more trucks showed up. So it was the 4 of us just playing in some deep stuff. I burried my 33's but was able to spin out of it some how. A chevy K5 with 38's was there and he pretty much wrecked it all for us little trucks cause he stirred up all the mud. I couldn't make it up the hill cause there was a huge rut. It was dank tho.

It wasn't raining yesterday at all and we had the camera...we were all set. Then we checked and we had no tape! Ahhh so we coulda had some wicked footage of the trucks playin. Oh well we'll remember it I'm sure. The guys we were wheelin' with said they like the sound alot. Those trucks like the ford with the 302 had crappy cherry bombs and it sounded like crap. The other K5 w/350 had dynomax super turbo's. They sounded good but only when he opened it up. When I was trying to make it up the hill they told me that is sounded great. I dunno I love the sound now. Way better. I'll try to get the camera out today then. Just for a rip down the road or something. My trucks primo muddy.

They are 3" casing with 2.25" slip fit. They slide right over your existing pipe. Oh and they are 18" long and 24" overall. Nice and loud.
