Alright right now I have 2 10" subs running off of one sony 2 channel amp. I aquired a rockford fosgate 2 channel amp. I am wondering if I could use both amps and have one amp per sub. They have the same power output.

What are your subs exactly? DVC, SVC, 2 ohm, 4 ohm. Are you wanting to bridge your amps? You do not have to bridge an amp to get the max power out of it. You can run a 2 ohm set-up on each channel of that RF amp and get basically the same power as a bridged 4 ohm set-up. And you can eliminate the Sony from the equation. But, it depends on what your subs are.

im not sure if the subs are DVD or SVC..but I know they are 4 ohm. They are pioneer IMPP subs. Im not sure if i want to bridge it or not? The reason I want to use both amps is both amps are underpowered to power both, so I wanted to use one per sub to get more power.
If the subs share the airspace in the box, it's gonna be tough to get them equal power from two different sources. What RF amp is it? The older RF amps where way underrated. If your subs are 4 ohm SVC you can bridge the amp and hook up the subs in parallel to drop the load to 2 ohms. Just an idea...
(A DVC sub has two sets of connections, SVC has only one)
The subs have seperate airspace. I'm not sure what you mean by what RF amp is it? its a Rockford Punch250A, but it is old. the subs are 4 ohm so wont dropping it to 2 ohm damage the subs/amp? As you can tell I am not very knowledgable with this stuff, so I might be asking some dumb questions
the 250 punch is a decent amp, and it can handle a 2 ohm load (but not bridged like I mentioned first, sorry!).
These are the specs for the new model, should be the same.
60W x 2 @ 4 ohms
125W x 2 @ 2 ohms
250W x 1 @ 4 ohms Bridged
I wouldn't mess with two seperate amps for the subs, try the RF, it should sound pretty good. If you still want more, you could sell both your amps and buy a larger mono amp for the subs.
alright sounds good..also i have another question, how much does the size of the wires matter? Right now I just have regular small sized speaker wire hooked up on everything..could that make a difference?
