I know this may sound ignorant and it is. I do not know which position is 2 hi 4 lo and 4 hi on my floor shifter. It is not marked on the ****. It is a 79 4x4 auto w/ c-6. Thanks
You can go under the truck and look at the tag on the case or look at the t-case and if it has a big range box about 6") on the side of the transmision and a little nipple on the output side(about 4") then it's a 203.
Or go inside and shift the shifter. A 203 will have one more gear than a 205.
The 203 will be 4l 2l N 2h 4h with a part time kit, with out Lo-Loc Lo N Hi Hi-Loc/ but like they said a 205 would be 4l N 2h 4h.
But without a part time kit the 203 would be a full time 4wd(chain driven).
The 205 is the part time transfer case(gear driven).
