www.dscmotorsport.com has blocks, heads, intakes etc...for your 428 build. There were lots of 428's built. Plus service replacement parts available over the counter through the late 70's. With all the "correct" resto guys snatching up original parts the prices have inflated over the last few years. But there are still some junkyard gems out there somewhere. The last good deal I heard was a guy on another fourm that plucked a "A" block 428 engine complete out of a Tbird for $200. There is no easy way to find them and buying parts seperate you will pay "premium" prices in most cases. Some 390 blocks can go .080 and might be a cheaper alternative if budget is a concern. Keep an eye out in the classifeds at www.fordfe.com. 428 stuff pops up there on a regular basis. Some forum members will offer parts there first before going on ebay. It takes time to collect everything if your scratch building. Plan your budget before you start and know current market prices. Also know your part numbers!!! Ebay is a good source for PRICE shopping although on the high side most of the time. I saw a 428CJ "C" block listed by a guy I know this morning. Starting bid was $600. A good site to read up on the 428 is www.428cobrajet.org This site will show the differences between the std 428 and CJ/SCJ 428 engines. A little reading and fact finding now will help you greatly when searching for parts. Good luck, G.

Unlesss you just have money to squander, build a 410 using a 360/390 block and a 428 crank.

aint't that the pot calling the kettle aluminum :-)

Or, you could build up a 390, JB weld some bolt heads on the block in the crossbolt location, and tell everyone its a 427.

Or, just do like greg said and build up a 410, and get some CJ valves. You'll never miss the 18 cubes.

I agree guys. The days of the 428 being a cheaper alternative than the 427 are fading fast. The 428 blocks are a little cheaper but heads, intakes and cranks are around the same price as some 427 parts. G.

I ran across a 428 that someone put in a 1968 f-100 for only $325 with a 4 speed behind it that came out of a TBird. Just look around they are out there you just have to keep looking for them. My luck came from a yound boy that was only about 25 you was selling the truck because he said it drank to much gas...... and it needed a starter. New starter $100 and some gas $20 and it ran perfect.

Mike-you are correct, the 428 was never a factory option in the F series. But to answer wheels ?, you just need all the FE trimmings off any FE and they will fit the 428 that will install in your '67 with all factory parts...

The trick will be finding a 428!!!

Altho we do need to know what he currently has and whether 2 or 4 wheel drive
