Well I could have sworn they are right handed threads ? So in that case if you turn the star wheel from the bottom to the top with your brake spoon..that should turn the adjuster out there for tightening the shoe's....

Uh, are they auto adjusters that don't "auto" anymore, or are they the "manual" type adjusters?
If they're "auto", think about which way the "finger" is going to push the wheel as it moves downward, and then spin the wheel that way.
