I have a 1978 ford F150 with a 351m. Its going to be a project truck.
Started it about a month ago no problem and when I went to start it the other day no go. There is no spark at the coil. Is it possible the ignition module died just sitting there.

If you have no power to your coil you probably have a failed module. A defective coil will still show power to the terminals.
can i clarify something? you might have said this but maybe im missing it. is there no power in the wire going TO the coil or is there no power coming out of the coil. if theres power getting to the coil but not after the coil, its definately the coil but if its not getting to the coil it most likely is the module but before you go out and buy a new module, check if there is power going to the ignition module. just use a test lignt, and remember to make sure the key is turned to the on position. now if there is no power going TO the module even, it could be your ignition switch or maybe (someone correct me if im wrong) there is a fuse for the ignition but not sure.
Yes I've tried a different coil. There is power at the coil and power going to the module out of the firewall but still have no spark on the coil wire
Pull your coil wire -- get a piece of solid INSULATED wire (#12 from a piece of Romex will do) -- bend the end of the wire into a loop so it fits tight in the neck of the coil -- place the other end by a ground and turn the engine over. If you have spark you have a bad coil wire.
Would like to thank everyone for all suggestions. Got another ignition module plugged it in and away she went
Thanks again for all the suggestions
