I have a E4OD out of a 1993 E-350 and want to know if anybody knows if it would be the same as a 1990 model in a F-450 Super Duty. The tail shaft is different. How hard is this to change? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks
heard the they moved the speedo gear to the differential in 92,no longer in the tranny,,also the valve body gaskets had some changes in them the 89 to 90,,do you have the trans mounted parking brake in the 450?,,i have one in my 92 f53 that i want to get rid of,will have to get a e4od 2wd applic, mine is a 2wd but the trans case is from a4x4,,the parking barke is mounted where the t-case would normally go for the 4x4
Yes I have the trans mounted parking brake. I didn't realize that about the speedo gear.I'll have to figure something out because I need to do something this holiday weekend. That is if it makes it till then. Do you know how hard it is to swap the tail sections? Do I have to tear the trans down to swap the tail section? Thanks for any and all info.

i have been wanting to get rid of this parking brake, was thinking of getting a e40d 2wd applic case,,your e4od tranny with the brake is really a4x4 applic, with the brake in place where the t-case would normally go,,you will have to get another tranny and get a slip joint added to the driveshaft and get the driveshaft shortened or lenthened,,i heard you just can't change the tail shafts,,the parking brakes have bearings then are prone to fail,,plus i want to lose the extra weight
