i had i similar post last month and decided to go with a luk. i have been happy with it. i have only put on about 500 miles since i got it but it is a nice clutch. Kwik, as to the stiffness, the Luk is slightly softer than the stock clutch but it is not mushy. i like a stiff clutch so at first i was not so happy, but then i drove my friends stock and it was clear that mine is way better. after a short time i became used to it and i recomend the Luk
I am under the impression that the 97 F-350 4x4 has a dual mass flywheel.
What all is necessary to change to single mass?
Also, is there any adjustment that can be made to the clutch other than replacing the nylon bushing that wears out and cost nearly $10? Replaced mine but still have to push nearly all the way down to engage the start switch and shift into reverse.
Is this a sign of possible problems?
The LUK conversion comes with the flywheel, pilot bearing, clutch disk, pressure plate and release bearing. You may also want to replace the clutch fork and pivot while you're in there.
That's one of the down sides to hydraulic clutches...no adjustment.
