Help...please...ignition probloms.

I've got an 85 F-150 300 I 6, I'm putting in a complete rebuilt 74 Bronco 302 due to the 300 being tired. I've swapped engine perches, the 74 bronco water pump radiator hose is on the correct side for the radiator, and I'm having a flywheel built to match the 74 302/85 hydraulic clutch pressure plate. Now I'm down to ignition problems, the distributers that take the module on the side that fits the 85 wiring harness is about a 1/2" longer and the oil pump rod is shaped different, can someone give me details on converting this to the older duraspark II ignition...Thanks.

Hmmm, I'm not sure what you mean, but I take it you're trying to match the '74 distributor to the '85 ignition module? I think you either have to buy a new distributor ('85) or buy an aftermarket ignition module (MSD highly recommended). In any case, you could call MSD and their techs should be able to tell you what your options are. There are a couple of places you can get professional technical advice; you can mail your request to tech@affordableperformance.com, explain your situation and give some backgrounad and a website at www.allexperts.com. All Experts has an automotive section with techs that will answer your questions.

Good luck,

Slik
