Cuts out, any ideas?
Here are the details. Some of you guys know that I am just about done restoring my truck. But for the life of me, I can't remember if it was doing this before I started or not.
When its warmed up and idling, you have to tap the gas before taking off. If you smash the accelerator it will cut out almost stalling the engine. Its a motorcraft 2 barrel stock carb that I bought new a few years ago and for the most part it has been sitting on the engine on an engine stand so the warranty is out on it.
From what I can gather it could be a few things from looking around on here. It could be the accelerator pump, that's what a buddy of mine thought to, I haven't put a new one in yet. It could be my air/gas mixture, (is it all the way in, and 1 1/2 turns out to reset? can't remember) and someone suggested it could be something to do with the choke not set right.
When its cold it runs high which I would expect, but once it warms up it opens up and drops the rpms down. I'm pretty sure the timing is alright. When my buddy and I rebuilt it a few years back we timed it. I know that's probably not saying much. (he's the mechanic not me! i'm a shade tree mechanic with big ideas!
Anyone have an other ideas what could be causing this? Or how to adjust some of these things?
Thanks guys for any ideas!

The symptom you gave us could be from too lean, or too rich. Since it happens when warm and not cold, I suspect rich. You may be dumping too much fuel with your pump or it could be jetted too rich. The idle screws will not cause or fix a jetting problem.
Check your plugs for color? Dark and sooty is rich, pure white is lean.
