Axle Ratio Change?
i have a 2002 V10 CrewCab 3.73 axle. according to the Ford Fleet site, i can pull a TT and FW up to 10,600 cause of my axle. If i had the 4.30 axle ratio i could pull a FW 13,500.
Is it legal, or can it be done to change the 3.73 axle ratio to the 4.30?

Changing to the 4.30 gears will make it a hole different truck you will love the way it pulls. And it's not illegal to change gears the only thing it changes is the GCVW recommendation's, the only reason that yours is lower is because of the gears so change them.

You will love the difference in power between the two gear ratios. I changed from 3.55 to 4.56 on my truck and what a world of difference it made!
Typical cost is $500-800 per axle. You must do both axles if your truck is 4wd.
